Optical Index Matching, Flexible Electrospun Substrates for Seamless Organic Photocapacitive Sensors
نویسندگان
چکیده
Planar, rigid glass substrates support the formation of organic small-molecular semiconductor thin films with extended crystalline texture and distinct pleochroism (top in cover picture), visible by cross-polarized microscopy. Woven, soaking electrospun nanofiber mat disrupt growth, leading to submicron-sized crystallites embedded fiber mesh (bottom). The benefits tissue-like mats are that they become virtually transparent wet, physiological environment. Therefore, considered Timo Grothe, Andrea Ehrmann co-workers (article number 2000543) as alternative for future visual all-organic neuro-prosthesis.

متن کاملElectrospun Nanofibrous Membranes for Highly Sensitive Optical Sensors
The first use of electrospun nanofibrous membranes as highly responsive fluorescence quenching-based optical sensors for metal ions (Fe3+ and Hg2+) and 2,4-dinitrotoluene (DNT) is reported. A fluorescent polymer, poly(acrylic acid)−poly(pyrene methanol) (PAA−PM), was used as a sensing material. Optical chemical sensors were fabricated by electrospinning PAA−PM and thermally cross-linkable polyu...

متن کاملSensitivity enhancement of nanoplasmonic sensors in low refractive index substrates.
Metal films perforated by nanoholes constitute a powerful platform for surface plasmon resonance biosensing. We find that the refractive index sensitivity of nanohole arrays increases if their resonance is red-shifted by increasing the separation distance between holes. However, an additional sensitivity enhancement occurs if the nanohole sensors are manufactured on low index substrates, despit...
متن کاملFloating Gate, Organic Field-Effect Transistor-Based Sensors towards Biomedical Applications Fabricated with Large-Area Processes over Flexible Substrates
Organic Field-Effect Transistors (OFETs) are attracting a rising interest for the development of novel kinds of sensing platforms. In this paper, we report about a peculiar sensor device structure, namely Organic Charge-Modulated Field-Effect Transistor (OCMFET), capable of operating at low voltages and entirely fabricated with large-area techniques, i.e., inkjet printing and chemical vapor dep...
